THE NECTARY

by alison smith

Visit The Nectary to immerse yourself in nature and hear “the hum of the earth” as you mimic a pollinating insect, moving between giant glowing flowers. Created by artist Alison Smith and Dr. Chris Hassall, lecturer in Animal Biology at the University of Leeds, this light and sound installation highlights the importance of pollinating insects, and how listening to nature can increase our understanding of the delicate ecosystems that are so crucial for our future.
