Immune Boosting – fact or fiction?
We are constantly bombarded with products and regimes that say they will boost our immunity but do any of these things work? Do we really need to boost our immune system. If we can boost immunity then, is it even a good idea to do so? This talk will explore the myths and hype, revealing the science behind our immune system and get into the truth of what we should really be doing to get our immune system working optimally.

Professor Cruickshank is an immunologist in the University of Manchester. Her research investigates the immune response to threats like infections or pollutants and the microbiome. She is an award-winning science communicator who involves diverse communities in her research both in the UK and Africa. She also regularly discusses immunology and infection in the media, has appeared on programmes such as The Truth about Boosting your Immune System and most recently won the Association of British Science Writers Dr Katharine Giles Award 2021 for best popular article written by a scientist or engineer.
