Clangers 50th Anniversary Screening + Q&A with Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE
Families are in for a treat as the Clangers celebrate their 50th anniversary and the moon landings with an exclusive screening, including an exclusive first look at the brand new third series, plus a special Q&A with the Clangers production team about the making of the show.
Hosting the panel will be Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE, a space scientist and life long fan of the Clangers.
Maggie is the the inspiration for a character in brand new commemorative episode, ‘The Visitor’ , which features an astronaut, who lands on the Clangers’ Little Blue Planet, in a storyline that pays homage to the original moon landings episode, ‘The Tablecloth’.
Joining the discussion will be:
Series Producer, Dan Maddicott, who is also chief whistler on the new series, translating the Clangers’ very unique language on screen via a collection of swanee whistles.
Executive Producer Daniel Postgate, who is son of the Clangers original co-creator Oliver Postgate. Dan writes many of the scripts and storylines for the new series and was nominated for a BAFTA for his writing on the show.
Clangers Co-Directors Chris Titchborne and Joanne Chalkley, from the award-winning Factory studios in Altrincham, where the show is animated.
Screening as part of this event is an exclusive preview of The Visitor, the first episode of the brand new third series which launches on CBeebies at 6.10pm on Saturday 20th July, plus a remastered version of original episode The Tablecloth, both of which celebrate the moon landings.
