FRIDAY 22 JULY 2022
Friday at bluedot 2022 featured the long-awaited return of full Lovell Telescope projections to Jodrell Bank, for the first time in a decade. Accompanying Groove Armada’s headline Lovell Stage performance, specially-commissioned visuals created by the band’s creative team lit up bluedot’s main arena for the final half of our headliner’s set. Standby for the full uncut film of these epic and utterly unique visuals, coming soon!
Across the site, the Notes culture arena saw the bluedot podcast to life for the first time with special guest Hannah Peel in conversation with Chris Hawkins, Tim Burgess’ much-loved Listening Parties featuring Tim and Kelly Lee Owens in conversation, and an afternoon of talks on gender and feminism curated by Helen Pankhurst. Music highlights featured the recently Mercury Prize-nominated Kojey Radical and the genial BCUC, plus panels on the legacy of the iconic Alan Garner and keynote science talks from Shari Breen, Matthew Cobb and Eric Drass, PLUS BBC Radio 5 Live broadcasting their drivetime afternoon show live from the Star Fields, featuring interviews with artists, speakers and the bluedot festival team.
